The Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin will look to new opportunities for redefining global growth potential. With only five weeks remaining, leaders of emerging and existing multinational companies are planning to unite at a crucial time for the global economy. ""We are going through a period of severe economic stress in many countries today, but I think what we need to do in Tianjin is to concentrate on identifying the opportunities which will get us moving again, and going forward bring us the level of growth which the world needs”, said William Rhodes, Senior Vice-Chairman, Citigroup, Mentor at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2008.

Detailed climate change recommendations to the Group of Eight leaders, backed by an influential group of CEOs from many of the world's largest companies, were delivered to Prime Minister Fukuda of Japan, during the G8's annual summit in Hokkaido, Japan.
"With the exception of those companies who are narrowly focused on affected categories, we see no reason why the financial crisis should constrain growth. Demand remains strong for brands with appealing, cost effective offerings."
